  • Overview

    The Storekeeper is responsible for maintaining both stock and non-stock inventory levels in the storeroom through electronic purchase orders and material issues. Individual must be detail-oriented, with a focus on accuracy of the issuance of over 3,000 individual items. The Storekeeper will receive orders and maintain stockroom shelves, deliver packages for departments within Facilities and make deliveries throughout the campus.   

    The Storekeeper will have numerous interactions with various tradespeople, department managers, couriers and sales representatives from supply vendors. Individual must provide excellent service in a courteous and professional manner. Must be team oriented and willing to take the initiative and have the ability to work alone. In addition, the Storekeeper should maintain a willingness to adapt and learn new protocols in an ever changing environment.         

                                                                                                  

                                                                                            

     

    Responsibilities

    • Be a first point of contact to customers at the stockroom window.
    • Assist plumbers, electricians, carpenters, and other tradespeople in obtaining materials from inventory.
    • Process material issues and returns through a computerized materials management system.
    • Receive packages from couriers such as DHL, FedEx and UPS and deliver to various departments throughout Facilities.
    • Assist stockroom staff in organizing and maintaining stockroom inventory. 
    • Monitor levels of copy paper for various departments within Facilities and replace, as necessary. 
    • Deliver materials and supplies to various job sites throughout campus.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Essential Qualifications:

    • Strong computer skills with a focus on using Microsoft Outlook, Word, & Excel.
    • One to three years previous stockroom experience.
    • Knowledge of Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC and Carpentry supplies.
    • Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for multiple hours throughout the day.
    • Valid drivers’ license.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Forklift experience, Electronic Database experience, Computerized Materials Management System experience (Maximo and/or PeopleSoft).
