The Lead Maintenance Mechanic will assume technical responsibility for leading a crew of multi-trade maintenance mechanics in the completion of maintenance, repair and alteration to laboratory and administrative spaces. The incumbent will promptly resolve problems that arise, assure work is performed in a safe and proper manner and will communicate work status with customers and supervisor. The Lead Maintenance Mechanic shall have a good knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, pipefitting, HVAC and electrical trades. The Lead Maintenance Mechanic must follow University safety rules and regulations at all times.
The HVAC Mechanic is a member of the Facilities Operations. Possessing journey level skills and experience, and with minimum oversight, the HVAC Mechanic is responsible for safely completing a full complement of journey level HVAC tasks, including, but not limited to the inspection, troubleshooting, and repair to a wide-range of campus HVAC equipment. The incumbent follows University safety rules and regulations at all times, along with established safety work procedures. The HVAC Shop members are represented by SEIU Local 175.

Plans and performs journeyman level work to inspect, maintain, repair, modify, and install University plumbing, heating, water, gas, utility, drainage and other related systems. The Landscaper position provides assistance in support of the Campus Grounds Operations by maintaining, preserving and improving the university grounds. Always follows all University safety rules and regulations and is proficient in basic grounds maintenance, horticultural practices and landscaping operations. This position’s normal workweek is Monday – Friday 6:00 am – 2:30 pm. Based on business needs, other work schedules may be assigned or required.
